Why join

Risk-free, hassle-free, and genuinely passive.

There is no fee to join, no minimum volume, and nothing to administer on your side. When a supporter donates a vehicle in your name, the work is ours and the proceeds are shared.

50% of net sale proceeds

Half of what the vehicle sells for, net, is sent to you once the sale completes. No cap, no tiering, no minimum number of vehicles.

Each vehicle assessed individually

We evaluate every donation for the best resale route rather than sending it straight to auction, because a higher sale price means a bigger cheque for you.

A marketing welcome kit

You get materials to tell your supporters the option exists — the part most partners underestimate, and the one that actually drives donations.

Nothing to lose

The program absorbs administrative costs and any losses on a vehicle sale. If a car sells for less than it cost to process, that is our problem, not yours.

Most partners are enrolled within a couple of weeks. There is no fee and no commitment beyond a short MOU.

Powered by Rotary volunteers

Why we can send you more than the others.

National vehicle donation programs are usually for-profit processors. Marketing, call centres and salaries come out of the sale before the charity sees anything. Cars 2nd Chance has no paid staff at all.

  • No paid staff and no hidden costs, so the benefit stays in the community
  • No markups taken anywhere in the process
  • The program absorbs administrative costs and losses on vehicle sales
  • Vehicles are refurbished and sold retail wherever that earns more
  • A small team means donors get a personal experience, not a ticket number
  • Built on 35 years of combined industry experience

Simple to partner

Four steps from hello to enrolled.

  1. 1

    Get in touch

Call us or send the partner form. A person reads it — there is no queue and no sales team.

  2. 2

    We verify status

We confirm your 501(c)(3) standing and may follow up with a question or two about your organization.

  3. 3

    Sign the MOU

We send a short Memorandum of Understanding setting out what each side is responsible for. No exclusivity, no term lock-in.

  4. 4

    You are enrolled

Once the signed MOU is back, you are added to the donor form and the partner list, and we send your onboarding tools.

Timing depends almost entirely on how quickly the signed MOU comes back.

Partner application

What your organization is known as day to day.

The registered name, exactly as the IRS has it. This is the name donors will see on the donation form.

We verify your 501(c)(3) status, then send a short MOU. No fee, no exclusivity.

Partner impact

This is what your share pays for.

Every vehicle that sells sends money to a partner nonprofit doing real work in its own community. These are some of them.

Two Rotary volunteers building a playground learning panel
Rotary and UNICEF volunteers reviewing a village health map
Rotary volunteers clearing debris during a river cleanup
Rotary club members gathered outside a local business
Volunteers handing out supplies to families and children

Before you apply

Partner questions.

What does it cost to join?

Nothing. There is no fee, no minimum number of vehicles, and no exclusivity requirement. You can partner with us and still run other fundraising however you like.

When do we get paid?

Half of the net sale proceeds are sent to you after the vehicle sells. Sale and paperwork usually take six to twelve weeks end to end, depending on the vehicle and how it is sold.

Do we have to promote it?

You do not have to, but partners who tell their supporters the option exists receive far more vehicles than those who do not. That is what the marketing welcome kit is for.

What if a supporter names us before we have joined?

They can name you on the donation form anyway. We will contact your organization about joining so the donation can be directed to you.

Who handles the title and the towing?

We do, entirely. Your organization has no role in intake, paperwork, towing or resale — the only thing you receive is the cheque and the donor’s goodwill.

Want to talk it through first?

Partnership questions are usually faster on the phone than by form, especially if your situation is unusual.
