Cars 2nd Chance. Care. Serve. Give.

Donate a car

Start here. It takes about five minutes.

Tell us about the vehicle and pick the cause. We tow it free, handle the title and the DMV paperwork, and send half the net proceeds to the nonprofit you name.

Before you start

Three things to have ready.

The title, in your name

Lost it, lien on it, or the registered owner has died? Call us before you fill anything in — we sort out most title problems every week.

Somewhere a truck can reach

A driveway, street or lot the tow truck can pull up to directly, with tires that hold air. The vehicle does not need to run.

A cause in mind

Pick from our partner list, name a 501(c)(3) that has not joined yet, or send the whole gift to the two Rotary clubs that run the program.

Donate your vehicle

Required fields are marked. If anything is unclear, leave it blank and add a note at the end — a person reads every submission.

Choose your cause

Half the net proceeds go here. This is the part most donors care about most, so we ask it first.

No particular nonprofit in mind? Choose “Direct Donations” and all net proceeds will fund charitable projects carried out by Clayton Valley/Concord Sunrise and Lamorinda Sunrise Rotary.

We reply within one business day. Nothing is committed until you sign the title.

After you submit

What happens next.

  1. 1

    You get a confirmation

An email arrives with instructions describing exactly how the process works, so you know what is coming.

  2. 2

    We call you

A real person rings to answer questions and sort out anything unusual about the title or the vehicle.

  3. 3

    A tow operator schedules pickup

Once we have received the paperwork, a tow operator calls you directly to arrange a time. You do not need to be there.

  4. 4

    Your paperwork follows the sale

Tax documentation is issued after the vehicle is sold, generally within 30 days of sale. If the sale exceeds $500, IRS Form 1098‑C is included.

  • Motorcycles, boats and personal watercraft

  • Vehicles with body damage or failed smog

  • We are not tax advisors — see IRS Publication 4303
  • Keep your receipt; your CPA will want it

Not sure your vehicle qualifies?

Call before you fill in the form. Unusual vehicles, missing titles and estate donations are all faster to sort out on the phone.

That car has one more job to do.

Five minutes on the form, free towing, and a cause you chose gets the money.
