5 Things You May Not Know About Car Donations

Most people know car donations do some good. What they often miss is how far a single vehicle travels, and how much say the donor gets along the way. Here are five things that surprise first-time donors.

1. You choose where the good goes

   Your donation supports projects you pick from our nonprofit partner list — schools, shelters, food programs, disaster recovery, and more. You are not handing your car to an anonymous fund.

2. Small donations still matter

   There is no minimum and no need for a showpiece car. We accept vehicles of all types, running or not. Every single one makes a difference to someone.

3. Giving is good for the giver

   Research keeps finding the same thing: people who give report being happier and healthier than people who do not. Clearing out a driveway turns out to be a decent self-help tool.

4. You are joining a community

   Cars 2nd Chance was started by Rotarians in Concord, California, and it runs on neighbors helping neighbors. Donating puts you alongside people doing the same thing locally and globally.

5. We take more than cars

   Boats, RVs, motorcycles and trucks are all welcome. If you are not sure whether yours qualifies, ask us — the answer is usually yes.
